11 Best Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) Agencies in 2026

Table of Contents

On 9 October 2026 we asked ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity 10 questions that buyers ask when they look for a GEO agency, and ran the same searches on Google. Then we checked every agency they named against its own website and its Clutch profile. This list is ordered by how often the AI tools named each agency, and every claim about an agency links to that agency’s own page. The full prompts and answers are in our AI visibility test results.

Disclosure: Growffic publishes this guide and sells GEO services. We list ourselves at the end, under “About the publisher”, outside the ranking.

What is a GEO agency?

A GEO (generative engine optimization) agency helps your brand get mentioned, cited and recommended in AI answers from ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews.

GEO is an extension of SEO, not a replacement for it. Building your presence on other websites has always been part of SEO, through link building and digital PR. AI tools have made it far more important. They read what other sites, reviews and communities say about you, summarise it, and repeat it as their answer. So a GEO agency puts heavy weight on your presence on third-party platforms, alongside the SEO work on your own site. You can see how we approach this on our GEO services page.

Our test showed this clearly. Most AI answers were built from other agencies’ “best of” lists, Clutch, Reddit threads and review sites, not from the agencies’ own service pages. An agency that only works on your website is doing half the job. For the full explanation, read our guide to generative engine optimization.

“A real GEO agency’s process is grounded in how GEO actually works. Its role is to understand which category a business should be known for, and then make sure the business is rewarded for it. It’s a game of reverse engineering: understanding what LLMs reward, ticking those boxes and building up the proof, so that AI tools start mentioning you and you become important in your category. The goal is never to manipulate the answers. It’s to make the brand visible in the categories where it should appear, and to support that with real marketing effort.” — Boni Satani, founder, Growffic

Prices, services and Clutch ratings were checked on 9 October 2026. Agencies change their offers often, so confirm before you shortlist.

How we picked and ordered these agencies

We used four checks, in this order:

  1. AI visibility (the order of the list). We asked 10 buyer questions in ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, and ran matching Google searches. That gave 34 answers that named agencies. We counted how many named each agency.
  2. A live GEO or AI search service page on the agency’s own site. Agencies without one were left out, however often they were named.
  3. Published proof: case studies or named clients we could link to.
  4. Clear fit: who the agency says it works best with.

Why rank by AI visibility? A GEO agency sells exactly this outcome. If AI tools don’t recommend an agency for its own category, buyers should ask why.

About Us: Growffic

Growffic is a specialist SEO and GEO agency in Ahmedabad, India, led by founder Boni Satani. Senior team members do the work, and Boni sets the strategy and reviews it. We work with B2B SaaS, ecommerce and healthcare brands that want long-term organic growth.

How our GEO work runs:

  1. We learn your business and build your prompt list. We start with how your buyers actually ask AI tools for help, and turn that into a list of branded prompts (“Is [your brand] good for…”) and non-branded prompts (“best [category] for…”).
  2. We find out what AI tools say about you today. We check how ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI answers describe your brand, and whether you appear at all for the non-branded prompts you want to win.
  3. We fix what’s wrong. If AI tools describe you inaccurately, we trace the sources behind those answers and correct them, on your site and on the third-party pages they rely on.
  4. We earn a place in the sources AI tools trust. For prompts where competitors are named and you aren’t, we study which pages the AI tools cite and work to get your brand onto them, through content, digital PR, reviews and community presence.
  5. We track every week. We re-run your prompts weekly, so you can see where you’re gaining and where the next piece of work should go.

Because GEO builds on SEO, the same team handles technical SEO, content and link building. Our published SEO results include a leading Indian logistics brand (organic clicks from 1.2M to 2.6M in six months) and a luxury D2C travel brand (+70% organic traffic in six months). See our case studies and GEO services.

How to choose a GEO agency

Choose an agency that measures your AI visibility before it starts, knows which sources shape AI answers in your category, has a plan to build your presence on third-party sites, and reports on a fixed set of prompts over time.

Start with a baseline. A capable GEO agency begins by measuring where you stand: which prompts matter to your buyers, which AI tools they use, and whether your brand appears in the answers today. Without that starting point, there is no way to judge progress later. Expect the baseline before, or at the very start of, the engagement.

Check that they understand your sources. AI answers in your category are shaped by a specific set of sources, such as comparison articles, directories, review sites and community threads. A good agency can tell you which of these matter for your market and why, and has a plan to improve your presence on them.

Look at the off-site plan, not just the content plan. Content on your own site is necessary, but it’s rarely enough. The agency should explain how it will build mentions and citations on third-party platforms, because that is where much of an AI tool’s view of your brand comes from.

Ask how they measure. Strong reporting tracks a fixed set of prompts across the main AI tools every month, shows which sources are cited, and reports the trend over time, alongside the traffic and leads that AI search sends you. If reporting is only rankings and traffic, the GEO work isn’t being measured.

Look for live proof. The most convincing evidence is a current AI answer that names one of the agency’s clients, backed by a case study with before-and-after numbers.

Red flags to watch for:

  • Promises of results without building citations or presence on third-party sites.
  • No clear measurement approach: no prompt tracking, no baseline, no reporting on AI visibility.
  • Content produced end to end with AI and no expert oversight.
  • Guarantees that ChatGPT or Google will recommend you. No one controls that.

How much does a GEO agency cost?

Published prices vary widely, because “GEO” ranges from software tracking to full content and PR programmes.

Among the agencies on this list that publish prices, entry points run from $3,000/month (WebFX) to $10,000/month (Omniscient Digital), with NoGood’s retainers averaging above $20,000/month.

In India, published packages from smaller agencies start at around ₹25,000 a month.

Our view: “You will find GEO packages in India for ₹25,000 a month. But a GEO programme that actually tracks your prompts, fixes your site and earns mentions on third-party sources realistically starts at around ₹1,00,000 a month.” — Boni Satani, founder, Growffic

FAQ

What does a GEO agency do?

A GEO agency gets your brand mentioned and cited in AI answers from ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews. The work covers tracking the prompts your buyers use, making your site easy for AI tools to read and trust, and earning mentions on the third-party pages AI tools cite.

What is the best GEO agency?

It depends on your size and market. In our October 2026 test, First Page Sage, Omniscient Digital, WebFX and iPullRank were named most often by AI tools. For B2B SaaS, Omniscient and Directive came up most. For enterprise technical work, iPullRank and Onely did. Use the table above to match agencies to your needs.

Is GEO replacing SEO?

No. GEO is an extension of SEO. AI tools still rely on pages that search engines can find and trust, so SEO remains the foundation. GEO adds more weight on how AI tools describe and recommend you, including your presence on sites you don’t own.

What is the difference between AEO and GEO?

In practice, there isn’t one. AEO (answer engine optimization), GEO (generative engine optimization) and LLM SEO describe the same work: getting your brand cited and recommended in AI answers. Different people use different terms, and the industry hasn’t settled on one yet.

How much does a GEO agency cost?

Published prices from the agencies on this list run from about $3,000 to over $20,000 a month. In India, packages start around ₹25,000 a month, but in our view a properly resourced GEO programme starts at about ₹1,00,000 a month.

Can a GEO agency guarantee I’ll appear in ChatGPT or AI Overviews?

No. AI answers change from run to run and no agency controls them. A good agency can show a baseline, a plan and steady improvement across a fixed set of prompts.

About our method

We ran our test on 9 October 2026 in ChatGPT (gpt-5.5 with web search), Gemini (3.8 Flash with web search) and Perplexity (Sonar Pro), plus matching Google searches in the US and India. AI answers change from one run to the next, the API versions of these tools can differ from the apps you use, and being named often is not the same as doing good work for clients. Treat the counts as a dated snapshot, not a verdict. The full prompts, answers and sources are in our AI visibility test results. We’ll repeat the test every quarter.
